Friday 31st October from 6pm to 7pm at Ballynoe Stone Circle. (4pm in Downpatrick for a coffee beforehand - venue tbc.)
Centuries before Halloween, there was Samhain. An ancient Celtic festival that marks summer’s end and the beginning of the dark season. A moment that invites us to pause at the threshold - to honour what has passed and to make space for what is yet to come.
Hidden down a narrow country lane just outside Downpatrick, Ballynoe Stone Circle is one of Ireland’s largest and most mysterious ancient sites - a wide ring of more than fifty stones that has watched countless seasons turn. It’s a place that still feels thin, where the boundaries between past and present, earth and sky, seem to blur.
On this Samhain evening, let us gather round the ancient stone circle at dusk to mark the turning of the year - to pause, breathe, and remember what endures through every season.
Nothing too formal, just an interactive guided meditation with shared silences, music, readings - and presence.
All welcome, though space is limited. You can join us for the coffee beforehand, or just at the circle at dusk, or both.
(PS Dress warmly, bring a small torch, and watch your footing on the lane.)
