Putting the Bible in its place
This session will show why it’s more important to be “christian” than to be “biblical”. We will discuss some of the problems with common ways of thinking about The Bible and offer suggestions on how the scriptures can be better used to support the life of faith.
The Cross and forgiveness
Did God really have to punish his Son before he could forgive humanity? And do only people who profess some kind of belief in Jesus benefit from God’s forgiveness? This session looks at better ways of thinking about the cross, forgiveness and salvation.
Accepting Sexuality
Is God as concerned with our sex lives as we are led to believe? Is there really a “Biblical definition of Marriage”? This session looks at how progressive Christianity treats issues of human sexuality and gender.
Living on a Prayer
Does God intervene in human affairs? Is God “looking out” for some people but not others? What role does prayer play in any of this? This session road tests some of our assumptions about how God acts within our world and what we can do about it.
