Harbour Contemplative Community

Alternative spiritual practice for a progressing faith

We are a collection of ordinary people who share a desire for deeper, more authentic forms of spiritual growth and exploration. Whilst many of us have felt disenchanted with institutional religion, we are still seekers of something we might call sacred, maybe even Divine.

Beyond the Institution

We contend that if something we call “God” exists, then God can be experienced by everyone, everywhere - unmediated by churches, scriptures, or traditions. All anyone needs to experience God, is attentiveness.

The purpose of the Contemplative Community, is to create spaces for practicing this sacred awareness together. This might take the form of:

  • Meditations in nature 🌿

  • Theological conversations over coffee ☕

  • Exploring spirituality through the arts 🎭

  • Engaging in interfaith dialogue 🤝

  • Drawing wisdom from Celtic prayer practices 🌀

By cultivating attentiveness in these moments, we learn to recognise the Sacred Presence in all aspects of life—in everyday encounters, in stillness, and in the world around us.

Jesus said to them, "Come away with me to a deserted place all by yourselves, and rest a while.

Beloning Without Barriers

Affiliation & Inclusivity

Harbour Contemplative Community is associated with Harbour Faith Community in Carrickfergus, but you do not need to be part of any church to participate. Everyone is welcome.
